Moving 12,000 devices from Workspace ONE to Intune

A large Canadian health authority moved its devices from Workspace ONE to Microsoft Intune. Its fleet is 22,000 devices. We planned and delivered the move for 12,000 of them.

The challenge

Moving a clinical fleet from one management platform to another is more than re-enrolling devices. The two platforms handle identity, access, apps and device behaviour differently, and clinical teams expect their devices to keep working.

What we did

  • Planned the migration and delivered the move for 12,000 devices.
  • Rebuilt one-to-one device functionality in Intune.
  • Set up the network and access path for managed devices: VPNs, tunnels, and Unified Access Gateway (UAG).
  • Built the management layer in Intune and Microsoft Entra ID: device profiles, application deployment, roles, and dynamic membership groups.

Where it stands

12,000 devices are now managed in Intune.

  • Workspace ONE
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • UAG
  • VPN and tunnels
